Leaman Junior High Art Students Advance to RODEOHOUSTON Art Show

Congratulations to two Leaman Junior High School Art students! Kendall Hurlburt and Rachel Seo submitted award-winning artwork in the Junior High division of the competition. Eighth-grader, Kendall Hurlburt, earned “Best of Show” for her art piece, “The Gathering.” Seventh-grader, Rachel Seo, received the “Gold Medal” for her artwork, “Sidebar.” These artworks will be displayed at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo from March 3 through March 22 at the NRG Center.

Rodeo Houston began the School Art Program more than 50 years ago to “challenge students to think outside of the box.” Since then, the program has continued to “support 142 different school districts, including private and parochial schools, in the Houston area.” The School Art Program offers students the opportunities to win scholarships, travel and have their artwork displayed for recognition. Through Rodeo Houston’s dedication to Fine Arts, many students have earned opportunities they could only dream of.
