Lamar CISD College and Career Night

Students in the Young Ranch community will have two chances to figure out what comes after high school for them. Lamar CISD will be hosting two College, Career and Military Nights for students in the district.

Monday, September 30
6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
B.F. Terry High School
5500 Avenue N.
Rosenberg, Texas 77471

Monday, October 7, 2019
6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Foster High School
4400 FM Rd 723
Richmond, Texas 77406

Many representatives from colleges and military academies will be available to speak with students at this event. Learn about “Ivy League schools, public and private institutions (in-state and out-of-state), community colleges, different military academies, scholarship foundations and more.” Students will get a one-on-one chance to ask college representatives about their campuses to learn about the differences and what the schools have to offer. They will be able to discuss campus life across different colleges to determine what experiences will be the most important for them.

If students decide against going to college, representatives from military academies can explain what it means to serve the country. Students can have in-depth conversations with these representatives to understand why they chose to serve straight out of high school. This is a great opportunity for students to explore the different options they have available after graduation.

Students will also get to learn how to apply for different scholarships and the options available to pay for college. The Young Ranch community wants to strongly encourage students to attend this event as it is an amazing resource to find out more about different colleges from students who study there themselves!
