Katy Will Display Fireworks For Fourth of July Freedom Celebration

What are your families July 4 traditions? Maybe enjoying an afternoon of swimming at the Young Ranch community pool followed by fireworks? If so, a scaled back Fourth of July Freedom Celebration fireworks show will go off in Katy. The display is set to start at 9 p.m. July 4 at the Katy Mills Mall.

Officials are encouraging community members to engage in social distancing throughout the event. The show will be smaller this year as donations were not sought out amidst COVID-19. Expenses will be covered from the non-refundable deposit and previous donations from prior years.

An announcement was originally made Monday morning cancelling the event, but council members who were not consulted put it back on the table for discussion. City officials were happy to bring this event back to the public.

Celebrate the 4th of July with a bang! Have fun and remember to respect those around you with social distancing measures.
