Katy Nonprofits Work with Residents to Provide Support for Local Students

With school being out for the summer, it’s the perfect time for Katy parents to work with their students on giving back to their community. Two of the local nonprofits that are providing opportunities and events for Katy families to give to their community are the Red Apple School Supply Program and the School Uniform Drive

Red Apple School Supply Program

Katy Christian Ministries is accepting donations and assistance to support Katy families in need, through their Red Apple School Supply Program. Any donations they receive will be distributed sometime in August, before the start of the 2021 school year.

A donation of $35 provides school supplies for one student, and donations can be made up to $875 and more, which would provide school supplies for over 25 students in need.

Their goal is to raise $35,000 to help provide supplies for students across the district. You can make a donation online through KCM’s website at https://ktcm.org/red-apple/

School Uniform Drive

The Katy-based non-profit Clothed by Faith is ready to help students in need by starting up their annual school uniform drive. They are accepting donations for their Bags of Hope program as well, which will benefit more than 500 local students.

They accept gently-used children’s clothing, or if you prefer, you can make a monetary donation on their website at https://secure.givelively.org/donate/clothed-by-faith-inc/school-uniform-drive
