Katy ISD’s Robotics Program Receives Funding for Great Work
It is always incredible news when campuses receive funding for innovative programs to help students succeed! The Katy ISD Robert R. Shaw Center for STEAM was presented with a $10,000 check from SABIC Corporate for the robotics program after observing the program at work. Students and mentors in the program were able to share about why robotics was significant for them and were so glad that a leading petrochemical manufacturing company decided to invest in an academic program dedicated to innovation.
What typically keeps programs from continuing is lack of funding, and this investment encourages students and mentors more than they could ever express. Investments in innovative programs provide financial backing for mentors to give students the best resources possible. Students are able to learn more and apply those lessons to physical projects to expand their innovative imagination.
