Katy Boardwalk District to open in late summer
Even in the midst of the pandemic, construction on Katy’s Boardwalk District didn’t delay. Katy has been thrilled to work on the new lakefront destination in Katy, as a hub for conferences, hotels, culture, food, community, and entertainment.
The Katy Boardwalk District will encompass an expansive 155,000 square feet of space dedicated to entertainment, dining, and retail, along with 60,000 square feet of office space as well. The Boardwalk Lofts will be the district’s residential area and is on schedule to open in the late summer of this year.
They are also in the process of building out a trail system that would weave through a 90-acre nature preserve, and around the 80-acre lake.
The Katy Development Authority and the city have spent around $5.2 million on the trail and boardwalk pond upgrades, and an additional $2.5 million on road improvements in the area.
