HCC Katy: Opening their New Campus in 2022
Houston Community College (HCC) will be moving its Katy Campus location in the spring of 2022. The new campus will be located at 22910 Colonial Parkway in Katy. The brand new HCC Katy campus location will be across the street from the new University of Houston Katy campus.
This new academic campus is the result of HCC’s $55 million investment and will cover over 125,000 square feet in total. HCC previously offered freshmen- sophomore level classes, so that students could then transfer their credits to the University of Houston. Now, HCC President Zachary Hodges said that students will be able to start their education in Katy and finish in Katy too.
One of the reasons for the campus relocation is to put students in closer proximity to the UH Katy campus. Getting to UH from the former HCC campus was a hassle for students, but from the new HCC campus location, all students have to do is jump on the Grand Parkway.
Katy students have the option to be dually enrolled at HCC and UH. This gives students the ability to take engineering classes in Katy while giving them the flexibility to take academic courses at the main campus.
HCC is planning to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new campus sometime early next spring.
