Fulshear High School Student Recognized as National Hispanic Scholar

The National Hispanic Recognition Program has named Liany Serrano Oviedo from Fulshear High School as a National Hispanic Scholar! Liany was one of eleven Lamar CISD students recognized by this spectacular program. This recognition means that the eleven students performed exceptionally well on the PSAT/NMSQT.

Juniors who identify as Hispanic/Latino on the PSAT answer sheet are automatically entered to be considered in the National Hispanic Recognition Program. Students who meet the required score for recognition will then need to complete an application and confirm their information and GPAs from their high schools.

The National Hispanic Recognition Program is directed by College Board and Scholarship America. Students are required to have a minimum 3.5 GPA, but this will not be considered until students become a Finalist in this competition. “The National Hispanic Recognition Program does not impact National Merit status. Students can be recognized by both programs.”
